Doesn't time fly when you are having fun? I can't believe it is so long since I made a card.
In between caring for John and working for a few days in uni interviewing prospective social workers, not to mention joining a gym and attending watercolouring classes it feels as if I have hardly had time to breathe!
Anyway, it was Mothering Sunday yesterday and Sam came home for the weekend which gave me a little 'me' time and I put it to good use by getting out the Promarkers and Tilda and Edwin. This card was made for the Docrafts childhood memories challenge. It reminds me of untangling the tree lights before putting the tree up. Also my mum would always forget an important part of the Christmas celebrations - the stuffing, the wrapping paper...

Well here is the first card that I have made for a couple of weeks. The image and sentiment are from Lili of the Valley. The paper is Dovecraft sugar and spice. The card was made for a Docrafts challenge - Lili of the Valley pink and girly. I am not a girly sort of person and find all pink is too much for my taste but I love the colour combination of aqua and pink.

Doesn't time fly when you are having fun? I can't believe we are already a week into February and I have made so few cards recently. But as I have nowhere to sell them and my family don't really appreciate the effort it doesn't really matter if I don't make many. I do find that cardmaking helps me to forget other things for a while so must make more of an effort this week.
I took my cards to a carers group this week and a couple of women ooohed and aaahed over them and asked how much they were. I told them that they were all £1.50 and all of a sudden interest was lost... I KNOW I don't over charge but people just don't appreciate the time and effort let alone the cost involved in making a card!

Wih Sympathy
My friend has been caring for her elderly mother for the last 5 years or so. Sadly her mother died yesterday so
I made this card. The stamp is from Papermania and the embossing folder is D'vine Swirls.

Busy Week
Had a busy week with all the usual stuff but also doing more work in the university. This time I have been helping the first year social work students with their interviewing skills. Next week I will be helping with advocavy skills and will be videoed - hmm, not too sure about that!
Anyway, Megan has her driving test tomorrow so have also been busy making cards. One for if she passes and another 'just in case'. I have every confidence in her ability but you just never know on the day...

Aaaarrrggghhhh! Very New To This
At the moment I haven't a clue what I am doing but thought I had better make a start. I expect there will be many mistakes made before I get the hang of this.
As usual for a Friday, John has gone to Headway Cardiff, where they specialise in helping people with brain injuries. He will play board games and go on the computer. There is an art workshop today but I doubt if he will participate in that.
I have spent the morning creating this brand new blog and this afternoon I will be doing something entirely different! I will be helping the local university to choose prospective social work students. It would be nice to think that I will be able to influence the new generation of Social Workers and make them more aware of the needs of carers - well I can hope!
No cardmaking for me today :(
